## The area

Bang Tao is the flat, spread-out corner of Phuket. The beach is long enough that early in the morning you can have whole stretches of it to yourself. Villas are scattered across the whole of Cherngtalay, from Laguna out to Pasak, so your front door and the nearest coffee are rarely on the same road. Boat Avenue is where the area eats and shops. Our office is here too, which is why we know these sois better than anywhere else on the island.

### Riding here

These are the roads to learn on: flat and straight, evenly surfaced and easy to read, which matters in your first days of riding on the left. The one thing to plan around is the evening traffic near Boat Avenue in high season, when cars queue for the car parks. Go earlier, or leave the bike a little further along and walk the last stretch.

About the area

## Why Bang Tao is hard without a bike

Villas here are spread across the whole Cherngtalay area, and the walk from a villa to the sea is 20–40 minutes in the heat. On a bike the beach, Boat Avenue and Laguna are 5 to 7 minutes away.

Send the exact villa, apartment or hotel, arrival details and gate instructions in Telegram before booking. Agree the handover point in advance: a reception, managed entrance or accessible gate may be more suitable than assuming a driver can enter a private compound.

- **Gated meeting point:** confirm the gate, reception or security procedure with the property and APARTEL before the handover. A private villa address does not itself confirm access.
- **Overnight parking:** ask the hotel, villa manager or managed car park whether parking is permitted, how the gate works and how retrieval is handled. Do not assume a free space or overnight access.
- **Walking, shuttle or rental:** a short centre trip may be easier on foot. No timetable or price is assumed here.
- **Luggage and arrival:** share suitcase details before booking. If bags or the gate route do not suit a scooter handover, agree an accessible meeting point or another arrival plan instead of assuming the bike can carry every bag.
