The area’s main trump card is logistics: the airport is 7 minutes away, yet you can’t hear the planes. Perfect for the first and last night of a holiday and for frequent flyers. A scooter covers everything else: groceries, plane-spotting in Mai Khao, the wild coves of Nai Thon, evening rides out to Bang Tao.
The roads are flat and empty — any scooter will do; for two with a suitcase a PCX or ADV160 is more comfortable.
