Choose the handover around your arrival
Agree the scooter and a clearly identified meeting point before arrival. APARTEL has no airport counter. Allow for passport control, baggage collection and finding your contact before you plan to ride away.
Nai Yang, Mai Khao and Nai Thon are possible nearby hotel handover areas. If you are staying in Bang Tao, Laguna or Patong, consider travelling to your accommodation first and arranging the scooter there. Ask about the free-delivery conditions and timing on Telegram.
A Honda ADV160 2026 or Yamaha XMAX 2026 may suit some experienced riders, but choose using the actual scooter, rider, passenger and luggage. Try the storage and check the model's load limit. If a suitcase cannot be secured safely, use a car or van for that journey and collect the scooter separately.
Before you travel
- Send the hotel pin, rider and passenger count, and a description of your luggage.
- Confirm the model, rental dates, cash deposit, meeting point, return point and free-delivery conditions in the chat.
- Check your motorcycle documents and insurance before booking. Use the international permit guide and rental insurance guide.
If you arrive late or tired
Arrange a car or van to the hotel if you are tired, inexperienced, have bulky bags or the conditions are unsuitable for a ride. Confirm scooter handover for a suitable time after you have rested. A flight landing time alone does not reserve a late-night meeting.
Before the return flight
Agree a return appointment, the condition and fuel checks, and how you will reach the terminal. Leave enough time for the handover and the airline's check-in deadline. Message the manager if the flight or your plans change.

Plan the journey from the airport
Check a current route to your exact hotel. Traffic, rain, luggage and the agreed meeting point affect when you can leave and how long the journey takes.
Hotel delivery or a separate luggage transfer?
- Nai Yang, Mai Khao and Nai Thon: send the hotel entrance or reception pin and agree the handover there if that suits your arrival.
- Bang Tao and Laguna: compare an airport handover with collecting the scooter after you reach the accommodation.
- Patong and the west coast: plan the route for the conditions and your experience, including hills, traffic and the return journey.
- Bulky luggage or a late flight: arrange a car or van for the airport journey and confirm the scooter separately.

What if my flight is delayed?

Do I need an international driving permit?
Check the documents recognised for your issuing country and your motorcycle entitlement before booking. Can I return the bike at the airport before my flight?
Yes: the return point near the terminal is agreed in the chat at no extra charge; the rental day ends at 13:00, so tell us the departure time when booking.
Which bike suits a couple with luggage from the airport?
Honda ADV160 2026 (500 ฿/day on 1–3 days, 7 500 ฿ a month, deposit 4 000 ฿) or Yamaha XMAX 2026 (800 ฿/day on 1–3 days, 15 000 ฿ a month, deposit 5 000 ฿): check passenger fit, permitted load and whether your actual bags can be secured. If they cannot, take a car or van for the airport journey and arrange the scooter at your hotel.
What happens if the scooter breaks down?
Contact us with the location and a description of the fault before arranging repairs. Replacement under the agreed rental terms is 0 ฿ extra; we confirm assistance and timing for the actual situation. Routine servicing is included in monthly rentals.
What should I know about riding in Thailand?
Traffic drives on the left. Check the rider's and passenger's helmet fit and bring the required motorcycle documents. Rain can reduce grip and visibility; postpone the ride when conditions or your experience make it unsuitable. Read the Phuket scooter safety guide before deciding.
What is included in the price?
Helmet, phone holder, raincoat, compulsory Por Ror Bor and a two-language contract, all at 0 ฿ extra; fuel and the refundable cash deposit are paid separately.
Can I leave a scooter at the airport while I travel?
Check the parking operator's motorcycle rules, permitted stay and charges before travelling. Agree any time away, rental dates and return arrangements with APARTEL separately. The official HKT parking page provides the operator's facility information; do not assume it guarantees long-term motorcycle storage.
What should we check when collecting the airport scooter?
Inspect and photograph the scooter, check the brakes, tyres, lights and fuel level, then check helmet and passenger fit. Confirm the permitted load, return appointment and rental terms before leaving. The collection checklist covers these steps.
