Phuket Airport Scooter Rental: Terminal Pickup or Free Hotel Delivery — 2026
There are two ways to leave Phuket airport on a rented scooter: APARTEL hands the bike over near the terminal timed to your flight, or delivers it free to your hotel on the west coast. Rental starts at 250 ฿ per day for a Yamaha Fino; the most popular Honda Click 160 is 350 ฿. Compare that with a taxi: around 1,500 ฿ to the west coast beaches, plus up to an hour in the taxi line in high season. One one-way taxi ride costs the same as 4–6 days of scooter rental. Here is how terminal pickup works, when hotel delivery is the smarter option, and how long the ride takes to each area.
Can I get a scooter right at the airport?
Yes. Send your flight number and preferred model to Telegram @apartel1 — we agree on a meeting point near the terminal. Paperwork takes 5 minutes: you show your passport (we never keep it), leave a cash deposit from 2,500 ฿, film the scooter together and go. Delayed flight is no problem — we track your arrival by flight number and adjust. Any arrival time works if agreed in advance.

A Click 160 for a week is 2,450 ฿ (350 ฿ × 7 days) — less than a round-trip taxi plus a couple of rides around the island. And you get full freedom of movement on top.
Why is hotel delivery usually the better deal?
Three reasons from daily practice. Luggage: two suitcases do not fit on a scooter, and only maxi models have real under-seat storage. Timing: our rental day runs 13:00 to 13:00 — you check in and the scooter is already at reception, so no day is wasted in transit. Money: delivery is free along the west coast (Bang Tao, Laguna, Surin, Kamala, Patong), and we collect the bike at the same address — no ride back to the airport.
How long is the ride from the airport?
- Nai Yang — about 7 minutes: restaurants right on the sand.
- Mai Khao — 10 minutes: 11 km of beach and plane spotting.
- Nai Thon — 20 minutes: the quietest north.
- Bang Tao — 30 minutes on a straight road.
- Patong — about 50 minutes.
What do I need to rent at the airport?
Your passport — just to show, the details go into the contract. A deposit of 2,500–5,000 ฿ in cash depending on the model, with the amount fixed in chat before we meet.
